You might be surprised to hear that Cat Osterman was a late bloomer into softball. She always enjoyed playing sports, but enjoyed soccer most until she was ten when she pitched for the first time for her little league team. After that day she was hooked, and asked for pitching lessons for her 11th birthday. Her whole family supported her and her brothers in softball and baseball. She worked very hard to get as good as she is, but there is know denying that she has a god-given advantage with the structure of her body. She stands at 6'2" with large feet, and long hand and fingers.(All of wich benefit a pitcher.) Her feet give her more push off the mound and her hands allow her to put an incredible amount of spin on the ball like no batter has ever seen. Cat will look for a second gold medal this year at the 2008 olympics in Beijing.
